The story begins at the Northern Temple of the Blue Mare. All of the characters (besides Nova) are helping to prepare for the upcoming festival. There was a blizzard the previous night, so there is a lot to do. The Main point of this will be to introduce the characters to various NPCs of the temple. Bonka will interact with [[QuickSilver]] and other mining/smithing ponies. Summer & Swift.... ? Peri with her mother the falcon trainer Thunder with [[an older member of the council|EagleFlight]] This leads to the [[First Day of the Celebration]]At the Dawn of the First day is the ceromony of calling. Assistants who have been deemed ready to move on to the next level will be called forth to recieve a challenge. Challenges cound be finding an item, or answering a riddle. The higher the rank, the more difficult the challenge is. Challenges are provided by the masters/teachers of each pupil. The pupil has until the end of the celebration (Dawn of the fourth day) in order to complete the challenge at the ceromony of answering. If they do not complete the challenge, they do not advance. Ayni, Peri, and Swift are called this year and given challenges. Thunder (who has no master) is not called, but is allowed to sit with the council as an honarary member. Ayni must [[find a rare herb|Ayni's Challenge]] used for healing and cause the flower to bloom. Peri must find and gain the trust of a bird.[[PeriC|Peri's Challenge]]? Swift must [[find and fight a Horn Beast|Swift's Challenge]] and bring back proof of the conquest. Ayni is called first and given the challenge by the [[master healer|HealingWind]]. Swift is the next of the party to be called. He will try and sneak his way up to the front (stealth vs passive? perception). [[His father|StrongWind]] will give him his challange, he is not ammused. [[ThunderClap]] (NPC) is also given a challenge by Swift's father. Peri is the last to recieve her challenge. During her walk to the front, Nova magically appears in mid-air and lands on Peri. There should be a lot of confusion on both parts, but eventually it will get sorted out, and Nova will recieve her challenge from her [[grand mother|Merlini AzureClaw]]. From here, [[North Wind|NorthWind]] (the leader of the NBMT) will conclude the ceromony and begin the festivities. He mentions that there are several events each day and the winner of each event will get tokens which can be traded with one of the ponies dressed as deities in order to recieve certian items which will be useful in the final event. They then get 6 skill checks to complete the item. crafters who do to reach the SD will have an uncomplete project, those who succeed by 10 or more have crafted an item of beauty. This year, when the pillars of light from each temple (north, south, east, west, main blue?, and sun) erupt, there is one missing (the sun temple's). One pony ([[EagleFlight]]) will wait outside (while everyone else goes inside to finish the celebration) to see if the final pillar appears. Inside, the final ceromony takes place; the ceromony of answering. Here the apprentices will be called up one by one and declare wether they have completed their challenge and wether they want to continue their studies in the way of the blue mare.Ayni is given a riddle for finding a flower and speaking certian words to make it bloom early. I will not open to the touch; Speak my purpose, do this much.Peri must find and befriend a Blue Kestral for her challenge. This kestral will be her familliar (taiga) She is given the following rhyme to guide her: A companion you must find, one who's good and true. To start this quest you must aquire; a training stick of yew. Whittle it down as you see best. Then go to where our birds take rest. Softly, with your stick upright, sing the song, I sang to you at night. There will alight upon my gift to you, a faithful friend, with stalwart heart, feathered all in blue. The song: Oh my little bird, winging through the night, oh my little bird, taking, taking flight. Over the mountians and over the snow, over the world where all of us grow. Oh my little bird, winging through the night, oh my little bird, taking, taking flight.Swift must find and fight a Horn Beast (subteranian pig monster with a short horn on it's snout). It is found within the old mines. He will need the help of at least two other ponys in order to defeat it.QuickSilver is a middle aged earth pony mare. Her coat is light blue and her mane is white. She is in charge of the miners of Upper Steadfast. Her mark of destiny is a silver bow. Her talent lies in crafting expertly made bows of expensive materials.Eagle Flight is in charge of the rangers of the NBMT. He is a tan colored pegasus stallion. His mane is cream colored. His cutie mark is an arrow fletched with eagle's feather. He is an expert shot with a bow.WillyNilly is a younger pony who has not yet recieved her cutie mark. She is very active and like to run around. She wants to be a part of everything. A left hooved archer in the NBMT. He is fairy compitant with his bow and is a 1st Attistant under[[EagleFlight]]Mother of Ayni and Swift Master Healer?Father of Ayni and Swift Very militaristic. Ligitimate father of Swift, but pretends that he is adpoted. Father of [[ThunderClap]]This is a ceremonial event A unicorn dresses up as the Sorrowful Grace and runs around the Temple and Upper Steadfast. Everyone else chases the unicorn. When the unicorn is caught it will teleport itself to another location. The event ends at sunrise. Whoever has caught the unicorn the most wins. The very last catch will be on the steps of the temple where the unicorn will strike a "woe is me" pose and wait to be caught. The last catch is worth extra points. When the unicorn disappears for the last time, it will errupt into a pillar of light which can be seen far and wide. Contestants can form teams, and points will be distributed among the members at the conclusion fo the event. Contestants must tag the unicorn with the "Lances" which they aquired during the [[finding event|Scrounge For Gear]] and [[during the festival|Chase Prep]]. The unicorn will try and use their magic in order to fool the followers. Illusion(duplication), Haste, Jump, feather fall, Charm, etc All unused lances and sheilds disappear at dawn when the unicorn is captured. [[Back|Fourth Day of the Celebration]]This event is to prepare for the Winter Chase, it lasts the entirety of the festival up until midnight of the third day. Contestants exchange tokens they've won with various npcs (who are dressed up as various deities) in order to get charms and lances. Tasks can also be done in exchange for items. * Lances are used during the chase in order to catch the unicorn * Shields are used to deflect her charms * A Root will tie her (or an opponent) in place for a time (the unicorn takes multiple roots). * A Feather will increase your speed, or break a Root. * A Magnifying glass will allow you to see through an illusion. Each Item is a one time use and disappears upon hitting the unicorn or deflecting a charm.
